14 Cardinal Finishes on a High Note

14 Cardinal fun-1

Showing a lot of character, heart, camaraderie, and determination, 14 Cardinal finished their season the way it began ….. with a tournament win in the Panther Classic in Greenville, making it number 5.  “I’m extremely proud of how hard our young ladies competed,” said Coach Kevin.  “Going into this tournament we focused on four major points – play for each other, give your best effort, play with no fear, and above all else …. have fun.”

Going a perfect 12 – 0 through their 6 matches, that’s exactly what happened.  “We executed in all facets of the game,” Coach Kevin mentioned.  “Whether it was serving, serve receive, defense and setting a strong block, transition, or running the offense, it was a pure joy to watch.  This has been a truly outstanding group to coach, and when you’re with a team for a while, you pick up the little nuances that give a good indication of how the team is going to perform.  Once I saw the girls singing and dancing before our first match,  I knew it was ‘game on’.”  Congrats ladies on a job well done ……… Whoomp there it is!!!!!

17 Cardinal Wins Bid to Nationals!

17 Cardinal17 Cardinal had to win seven games in a row including matches over TESL, HP Navy, PowerHitters, & Rockwood Thunder.  They beat HP 17 Gold to win the bid.  The team will take two weeks off and then return to the gym in mid may for preparation for nationals.

Summer Camps Announced!

The Summer Camp schedule has been finalized.  Please visit the Summer Camps page on the website for more information.

16 Black Finishes Second in the Bronze Division Regional

16 BlackH2 16 Black took runner up in the Bronze Division at the Gateway Regional Tournament.  The weekend was full of exciting plays and never give up attitudes.  They played one of their most exciting matches of the season, winning in two close sets agains Mid-State Force to get to the championship game.  They finished the second set with a strong comeback victory, after being down 23-18, coming back to win win ………. “The girls played some tough volleyball, especially on Sunday, and I’m so proud of the heart they have for the game and each other,” said Coach Melissa.

14 Cardinal Victorious!

14Cardinal

After not competing for nearly 3 weeks due to Spring Break,  the team was a little uneven in the first two matches.  “However, our ladies really turned it on and ended up going a perfect 10-0 in their five matches to win the 12-team Xplosion Spring Fling at the Rec Plex.  Our girls noticed how much their communication has improved and along with it, their confidence.  This was a great tuneup for the upcoming Gateway Regionals.  Way to go ladies!!!!

By  Coaches Geoff Davis & Ryan Johnson

H2  STL 17 Crush set some pretty high goals for its 9, mostly dual sports athletes.  Playing around 5 basketball schedules, a hurt knee, and a competitive swim schedule, the team found a way to practice 2-3 times per week, though odd hours I admit, and put in place a thrilling month capturing 1st place honors in each of the 3 tournaments that they competed in, two of which had 12team pools.  Each of these kids played flawlessly during the day.  It’s really apparent that these kids care for each other, and support each other.  The two underclassman (16s) defensive specialist, have really shown us a great deal of heart on the court and have come together.  Ranked 8th in the region, this team has a real chance at gaining a bid to nationals and will be looking forward to getting on the court in a couple of weeks.  This weekend, 17 Crush  setter, Jenna McGraw will be making her appearance with her H2 sisters on 17 Cardinal (ranked#2).
