After few weekends off playing, these girls have shown great teamwork and sportsmanship this weekend at the ShowMe National Qualifier in the USA division. The competition was really tough, but our H2 Columbia did not let up. There were many teams from all over the country – from Colorado to Texas to Florida. The courts were full all the time and the competition was getting better each match.
The first day of our pool play we had really tough opponents. The team’s performance was a little less than expected. The H2 Columbia did not expect that high competition because this was our first qualifier experience. Towards the end of the day though, H2 Columbia showed that they can play on that high level and that they are one of the better teams in our region.
The second day of the national qualifier started off better. The girls came to play with good attitudes and the right mindset. We struggled with our serve receive and some unforced errors. We came really close to winning one of our games, but luck was not on our side. However, on the third day our Columbia girls won our first game 25-15 and 25-11. We were able to fight and finish third in our bracket.
