The ladies of H2 IL West 14’s competed in the Sunday Funday at Southwestern Illinois College on Sunday. After a slow start against a tough MOVA 14’s, the ladies stepped up their game to split the match. Taking the next match against Midwest Fire in two and a hard fought split with SWI Crush. Unfortunately, the first set point differential loss to MOVA pushed us to the Silver bracket. This team really stepped up their game running the Silver bracket taking out a tough Crossfire team in three. Then overpowering serves, pinpoint passing and some monster attacks took out a scrappy SISVBC program in two for 1st Place in Silver.

We have been a tight team from the first moment on the court together and we stepped up to play as one. They proved to the player standing on each side of them and proved to themselves that they could do it. I am very proud of these young athletes. It was a nice achievement to earn 1st Place in Silver. Not only do I, but the girls themselves know they are Gold medal talent. These athletes are not satisfied, and will continue to push hard to achieve the preseason goal of taking 1st in Gold. The girls have a weekend off before we step up a division level to face 15’s at the March Mayhem Tournament at Belleville West High School. This will be a huge test for the girls, but we are ready for the challenge!
