Our girls traveled to both the TESL Center and America Center this weekend to participate in the President’s Day Classic. We finished 3-0 on the first day, winning in convincing fashion. However, the second day was a little disappointing for us. They finished 0-3 losing matches 1-2, 1-2 and 0-2. Our girls gave plenty of effort but were missing a competitive attitude.
We finished the tournament winning bronze, but left feeling like we underachieved. We were seeded 3rd in the tournament coming into the second day and we beat ourselves instead of making the other team beat us. We have since had a long conversation over three things: what we can control, what is out of our control, and what makes a great teammate? After this talk, we had an amazing practice and we are ready to head to Belleville West for the Ice Volleys Tournament. The girls are starting to understand that in order to win, we need to play as a team.
