The weekend started off again at C4 for another round of Premier League. Our girls went 1-1 on the night beating High Performance Gray 25-11, 25-18 and losing to the boys of HP 25-21, 25-13. Another good learning experience set up a fun day at St. Peters Rec Plex this Saturday.
The girls dropped their first match to Gemini 0-2 in pool play. They had some great servers and passers that led to a quick victory for the opponents. Our girls then swept through the remaining sets 4-0 against Blue Steel and Rockwood. This set up a visit to gold and a rematch against Core 11 Navy. H2 won in three sets with the final set being 15-13 when the two met at President’s day. This time our girls played their best and won in straight sets.
We then played their top team, Core 11 Carolina. These girls were big servers but our girls fought hard. We started the match 1-10 in the first set and lost 5-19. Our spirits weren’t broken as we came out and won the second 19-17. Unfortunately, we got stuck against a big server and started the third set down 1-11. We fought back to make it 15-7 but unfortunately ended our day one game short of our goal.
This was another great weekend as the team keeps pushing their limits and learning to become great teammates. We will practice twice before ending our Premier League season this Friday at C4.
