The girls of H2 16 Crimson competed in the Mideast Qualifier in Indianapolis over the weekend. The team encountered some very tough competition and absolutely got better and improved throughout the three day tournament. The first day provided a big challenge as the girls made the goal of finishing in the top of their pool to move up in the field for the second day. Unfortunately, the match for second place didn’t go Crimson’s way as an impressive Prodigy 16 Cox team took the spot in two games, 25-23 and 25-22. The match was filled with scrappy defensive plays and back-and-forth points. The team proved that they are fighters and chose to come together and regroup after losing many long rally points and never gave up.

Saturday brought a solid outing in the first two games – both foes never getting above 20 points in all four sets. The match for first place in the pool went to River City 16 Blue – a team who would later win the Copper bracket handily. Crimson ended up competing in the Diamond bracket on Sunday, getting knocked out in the first round by FC Elite 16 Navy. The game had many ups and downs but was highlighted by libero Tori Rosemann’s stellar heart, effort and backrow talent.
16 Crimson finished the tournament in 50th place. The girls showed moments of excellence and unity as they continue to work on putting all of the pieces together. Next stop – Gateway Regionals on April 2-3. Go H2!
