The girls of H2 12U Under Armour had a busy weekend. First up was an H2 tournament at Christian High School on Saturday. The team came into the tournament as the top seed and held that seed throughout the day ending as champions after a hard fought, three set match against Rockwood White. Serving was the key to the championship as the team served over 92% on the day.

Sunday was a two match day in the Premier League. After the first week of the league last weekend there were only three teams still undefeated in the top half of the bracket and by a quirk of the schedule, those three teams (H2 Under Armour, HiP Royal, HiP Orange) all met during the second week. The first match had H2 UA knocking off HiP Orange in straight sets and the second match had HiP Royal defeating HiP Orange setting up an undefeated match-up.

The HiP Royal team looks very imposing as they are tall and lean and have many hitters that hit the ball very hard. Fortunately the H2 girls decided that if they focused on doing their job, good things could happen. Good things did indeed happen as H2 played their best match of the season winning in straight sets, 25-12, 25-15, leaving them as the only undefeated team in the top bracket.

Serving once again was a key to the victory as the team served just under 94%. Today the passing was also dominant and there were only two hitting errors in the match. The girls took a big step forward in their quest in becoming a top team in the area. Tuesday they will hit the gym for the first of four practices before the next match and the memories of a 7-0 weekend fresh in their minds.
