As we embarked on our first out of town multi-day tournament the girls were excited and prepared to compete.

Day 1 we easily took the 3rd and 4th seed but ended the day dropping the match to the #1 seed in an exciting 3 set match. Ending the day 2-1 and taking 2nd in our pool led us to the Gold bracket on Sunday.

Day 2 the girls faced their sister team H2 16 Crimson first thing in the morning. It was a great match with our girls taking the win in 3 sets! We then faced a strong undefeated Arkansas Storm team taking the match in 3 as well. This win led us to the semifinals to compete against another undefeated team Rock City Juniors.

The girls again fought against a very strong serving team and a 6 foot middle and dropped the first set. The second set they regained focus and were ready to fight for the match. We took the 2nd set with a game winning block against that middle by H2 middle Kira Ward! Unfortunately unforced errors and issues with serve receive caused us to drop the deciding set to one of the more competitive teams that we saw all weekend. We had a great weekend overall finishing 3rd in Gold! We continue to work on execution and communication on the court. The girls enjoyed the bonding time and the ability to work on the skills we have been practicing in a multi-day tournament setting. This will be key as we prepare for upcoming qualifiers. We are excited and extremely optimistic with our progress and look to continue our success this weekend in the final Gateway League matches. Go H2!
